  • We're supporting the SMPTE OpenTrackIO standard in Pixotope 25.3. As active contributors to developing this protocol, we're helping the industry move toward true tracking interoperability. Mix vendors, swap systems, integrate solutions that actually talk to each other. ✓ More flexibility ✓ Less vendor lock-in ✓ Better production infrastructure That's the direction broadcast tech should be heading. If you're at SIGGRAPH Asia struggling with how to make virtual production actually work for broadcast, our colleague Xu Yang can help. He's in Hong Kong this week representing Pixotope, and he's the person to talk to about AR, XR, and virtual studio setups that solve real production problems — not just look good in demos. Whether you're dealing with: ✓ Workflow integration headaches ✓ Technical specs that don't match your reality ✓ Questions about what's actually possible vs. marketing hype Xu can walk you through how other Asian broadcasters are handling these problems. Reach out if you're around, these conversations are always better in person than over email threads. https://hubs.li/Q03Y6jS80 #SIGGRAPHAsia #VirtualProduction #Broadcast #HongKong

  • Your XR setup just got bulletproof. Pixotope 25.3 introduces N+1 automatic render failover for XR productions. Now you can assign one engine to cover any number of XR machines, based on your priority and needs. Engine fails? Or network drops? The backup takes over automatically, so all live changes stay synced and there is no interruption to your broadcast. No more dedicated backup per machine. No more panic when hardware acts up mid-show. This is the reliability complex productions actually need. • How does ESPN Brazil run multiple sports programs daily from a single 170-square-meter space? Traditionally: build a set for the NBA, dismantle, build for tennis, repeat. But ESPN Brazil faced a real challenge: how to leap from Grand Slam tennis to NFL touchdowns to Premier League goals, all without grinding production to a halt. Physical sets just couldn’t keep up. Their solution with Pixotope: a single PTZ camera in a chroma-key studio became multiple virtual cameras via real-time rendering. Production teams can now switch from tennis to basketball coverage in minutes instead of days. One ordinary camera, endless dynamic visuals - shots now defy the boundaries of traditional PTZ technology. The impact? Each show now delivers engaging visuals, every day, all from one fully utilized studio. Sports moments never miss a beat - flawless quality, zero downtime. Thanks to our partner Tektrade and the team at ESPN Brazil. See the results for yourself. https://hubs.li/Q03XBM8Q0 #virtualstudio #sports #liveproduction #broadcasting

  • Deploying AR graphics for a 5-minute segment doesn't mean 5 minutes of work. It means 2 days of travel, $10K in tracking equipment, and praying it doesn't rain... One engineer on-site serves one production. One engineer stuck at a venue? Every other production is waiting. Shipping tracking equipment sounds like careful planning. In reality it's damaged hardware, delayed flights, and missing cables that were "definitely packed." Weather looking clear means good conditions. Weather on game day means equipment failure or your engineer standing in a storm protecting a $10K rig. Traditional tracking serves one venue per day. Pixotope Zone serves multiple productions from the van while you're already at the next event. Setup time "estimated at 3 hours" doesn't take 3 hours. It takes 8 hours, venue access issues, and you've definitely missed soundcheck. One broadcast costs $3,500 in overhead. One broadcast with Pixotope Zone? Great AR graphics, no travel, no shipping, no engineer on-site, no weather panic. Computer vision tracking via SDI feed means plug in and go. Traditional tracking means arrive early, stay late, hope nothing breaks. Learn what Pixotope Zone can do: https://hubs.li/Q03WQ2kX0 #sports #liveproduction #broadcasting #virtualproduction

  • When AR and LED wall colors don’t match, the illusion breaks instantly. Viewers notice. You end up chasing color profiles while the crew waits. Why it happens? Cameras, LED panels, and real-time engines can all treat color differently. If their color spaces aren’t aligned, your virtual extensions will never sit naturally on the LED wall. The Fix: Calibrate once, save the profile, and reload it whenever conditions change or you move to a new production. No more rebuilding color pipelines from scratch. The Result: Matched brightness, consistent color temperature, aligned saturation. Your AR set extension blends seamlessly with the LED - no “virtual vs. real” boundary. We can even correct for angle-based color changes on LED. Pixotope has the power. Want the full workflow? Use Pixotope and watch the color matching tutorial. #LED #LEDwall #XR #extendedreality

  • Once upon a time, learning virtual production took months. Now? The world’s biggest broadcasters are getting crews up to speed in under a week. Your team already knows live TV. They understand timing, cues, talent, chaos, and pressure. That’s the hard part. The VP layer shouldn’t be harder. Pixotope was built so broadcasters can go from zero to running real-time virtual graphics fast. No six-weeks of training. No “only the expert can touch it.” Just tools that work the way production teams already think. Your director doesn’t need to be a 3D artist. Your TD doesn’t need to be a programmer. They just need software that makes sense on show day. Want your crew trained on the same system used by top global broadcasters and doing real-time graphics in under a week? Incredible work from the team at #DisfrutaMadrid and Raised By Monsters. Just one week to integrate a complete VP pipeline for a daily live broadcast. Most integrations take weeks or months - this team made it happen in 7 days. Congrats!👏

Today we want to highlight the incredible Virtual Production team we have at #DisfrutaMadrid, the live show on telemadrid. Every broadcast involves virtual environments, camera changes, real-time adjustments, and a workflow that depends on everything running flawlessly, with zero margin for error. And we integrated all of this with Pixotope in just one week of work — setting up the entire VP pipeline for a live program and leaving it ready to keep up with the pace of daily broadcasts. Behind the scenes there’s a team that combines technical expertise, nerves of steel, and creativity, capable of reacting within seconds when something changes on set or in the interviews (and as you all know… there are always changes). Virtual Production is about technology, yes, but above all, it’s about people. #UnrealEngine5 #Pixotope #RaisedByMonsters #TeleMadrid #DisfrutaMadrid #VirtualDailyProduction

  • “It looks close enough.” That’s how broadcast camera tracking failures start... If you’re eyeballing calibration because the viewport seems aligned, you’re gambling with on-air credibility. A tiny offset becomes a huge drift once the camera moves - floating AR, sliding XR walls, and a very public mess. We've put together a quick breakdown of the mistakes to avoid and how to get it right - blocking time, using automated tools, verifying across the volume, and documenting everything so drift never surprises you again. Pixotope just powered one of the most advanced live events we've ever seen. At the KPL Grand Finals 2025, a massive AR dragon was rendered live in real-time and synchronized across the stadium - complete with motion-tracked cameras and a 7,000 m² LED stage setup. Beijing ShowPlus ran the entire AR through Pixotope, using live camera tracking fed into Unreal Engine for real-time rendering. Multi-camera coordination ensured the dragon stayed perfectly locked to physical space from every angle - all broadcast live to millions of viewers. The technical challenges were massive: ✓ fully open-air stadium ✓ complex lighting conditions ✓ multiple LED screen configurations requiring custom control solutions ShowPlus deployed real-time rendering with flawless virtual-physical integration - AR virtual hosts, live interactive content, and golden dragon moving through the stadium. The event drew 62,196 spectators, set a Guinness World Record for largest esports attendance, and sold out in 12 seconds. Ready to scale your virtual production to stadium level? Let's talk about what Pixotope can do for your next broadcast. #esports #AR #augmentedreality #broadcasting Credits to: KPL Hero Esports Beijing ShowPlus
